The Royal Easter Show is on from 1 – 5 April 2010. We have secured a New Zealand exclusive, with the never before seen in New Zealand shows, “BEN 10 Live” and “Yo Gabba Gabba!” direct from Cartoon Network & Nickleodeon!
“Ben 10 Live” is an incredibly charged live show that has mass age appeal.
“Yo Gabba Gabba! I Like To Dance”, as seen on TV, is an urban inspired live show.
The A&P Show has a wonderful display of animals and animal competitions. Also back by popular demand are the Royal Easter Cat show and Chelsea and her Star Dogs. A new addition is Sheep n Show, a shearing show with a difference. Top Shearers from around New Zealand will again compete for top titles in the Royal Easter Show Shears.
Horses make their entrance with the Rough Rider Equestrian Stunt Team in the main arena and at neighbouring Alexandra Park, the Royal Easter Show equestrian competition runs for four days.
And if that’s not enough to satisfy your animal fun, Farm World offers kids of all ages the chance to get up close to farm animals with our new interactive activities, like learning how to milk a cow and make butter!
The famous Royal Easter Show Art Awards, which is New Zealand’s largest art show, features hundreds of artworks from all over New Zealand which are for sale during the show. Another feature of the Art Pavilion are the working artist displays, face painting by award winning Carmel McCormick and hands on art activities for the kids.
We’ve got more thunderous fun in the arena with the Hauraki Battle of the Bushmen where the chainsaws dance and the wood chips fly.
Our supercharged carnival is back with its amazing rides. Islamic Cultural Expo
17th April - 19th April

From historical times to date, Islamic arts, calligraphy, architecture, clothing’s and food have been a source of attraction for many, from the architecture of many mosques in the Middle-East, the pyramids of Egypt, the uniqueness of the Taj Mahal in India to the Modern day tallest building “Burj Khalifa” in Dubai. Our aim is to provide a show of the different Muslim arts and cultures and an overview of the Islamic ways of life from around the world.
Hosted by At-Taqwa Trust, the 2nd New Zealand Islamic Exhibition follows on from a very successful 1st Exhibition that was held in 2009. There were exhibitions from different parts of the Muslim World with International guest speakers and our local mayors and members of parliament. It was a vibrant display of the Islam religion and exhibitions of the cultures of Muslim nations from around the world.
The event attracted close to a thousand visitors and we expect to double this number with a much improved and bigger venue chosen this year.
The 2nd New Zealand Islamic Arts & Cultural Exhibition under the theme of “The Muslim Heritage” will boast larger scaled display, featuring a greater variety of artifacts, Islamic Calligraphy, display of clothes and attire, display of Islamic antiques, live demonstrations and colorful presentations of the history and culture of Islam and Muslim nations, free books and literature, live lectures, seminars, tour guides and much more. Different varieties of foods and snacks from Muslim nations will also be sold at the events centre.
